OUR HISTORY
Cantera Soccer Club was founded in 2013 in Maryland, USA, by professional soccer coach Diego Federico, born and raised in Argentina.

Passionate about soccer, and having played as a professional soccer player, he truly believes in the power of soccer to inspire children, not only within the sport but also in their lives.
​
The club's inaugural team, Cantera 99, quickly made its mark with numerous achievements, championships, and league victories, forging lasting friendships among its members. One of our current coaches even began his journey as a player on that team.
​
From 2017 to 2024, Cantera was a part of MDFusion, but has since returned to operate independently.
​
Since its creation, Cantera has grown significantly, fostering a community where players thrive both athletically and personally.
Currently, Cantera Soccer Club competes in MSI Classic and travel leagues, offering programs for boys and girls from age 7 through high school. Proudly representing Montgomery County, MD, we invite you to explore our journey and join our soccer family.

Our programs are designed to help players feel a sense of belonging, boost their self-esteem, and achieve their best physical and emotional shape.
Through the wonderful sport of soccer, we aim to foster everlasting friendships and provide life-long advice to every player, encouraging active participation and personal development both on and off the field.
